On the Road to Cal Act & APTA in Our New Electric MiniBus

Sunset Vans is on the road to the 2021 California Association For Coordinated Transportation (CALACT) Autumn Conference & Expo at the Monterey Plaza Hotel in Monterey, California, and we will be arriving in style!

Owner Derek Murray and our team will be making the 392-mile journey in the world’s first Class 2, low floor electric minibus.

With 300 Hp and 226 lb-ft of torque, the Ram Promaster (RP) Minibus matches the power and capabilities of a traditional combustion engine while eliminating carbon emissions and has the ability to transport eight passengers and three wheelchairs.

Sunset Vans and the team will be maximizing the vehicle’s 185-mile traveling range and utilizing its fast-charging capabilities to reach a full charge in a maximum of 30 minutes.

Other key features of the RP Minibus include a rapid electric dual-sliding door, an optional power bi-folding aluminum ramp with swing-away access, and an interior and exterior emergency bus door release.

“We are really excited to drive the fully electric, Ram Promaster Minibus up to Monterey for the CALACT Conference and Expo,” said Murray. “This vehicle is the future of micro-transit and our team is taking it to CALACT to show its true capabilities.”

CALACT is a non-profit organization that represents the interests of small, rural, and specialized transportation providers in the state of California.

After CALACT, Sunset Vans will pack up and travel to Orlando, Florida for the American Public Transportation Association Expo.
