A wheelchair accessible van is just like any other vehicle purchased from a dealership; all need to be taken care of to extend its lifetime and keep its passengers safe, like its intended purpose.

At Sunset Vans, keeping your van in its best shape is the top priority. Even if the wheelchair accessible vehicle wasn’t purchased at Sunset Vans, we will still be more than happy to service your wheelchair accessible vehicle at our facility.

How is my wheelchair lift serviced?

To mitigate any issues, a top priority for any wheelchair accessible vehicle is ensuring the lift is always running as smoothly as it can be with no mechanical setbacks, as any malfunctions can put wheelchair occupants in danger.

Following the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration checklists, it ensures the wheelchair lift in the vehicle is fully functional by thoroughly checking each lift function separately. Sunset runs through the NHTSA checklist at every preventative maintenance (PM) service.

Other checks done at Sunset vans in the preventative maintenance category are lift adjustments, safety switch checks, weld inspections, cable assembly and electrical system inspections, testing the manual backup system, lubricating moving mechanisms and also providing suggestions for parts to be replaced, if necessary. With Sunset Vans one can have their lift serviced at an annual appointment or receive help with any other issues that may arise on an average day. Either way, the service department is ready to assist.

What if the issue with my lift is part-related?

If a part is in need of a new life, the Sunset Vans Online Parts Store is in stock with everything one may need to resolve a wheelchair lift issue: Wheelchair Lift Parts, Wheelchair Van Parts, and Occupant Restraints – Sunset Vans.

Carrying a variety of brands, the parts store is open 24/7 through the online shop, but if further assistance is needed the service department is here to guide customers to the correct part and assist with the ordering process.

When can I have my van serviced?

Sunset services vans five days a week, Monday through Friday, so customers can be away from their vehicle for as little time as possible.

An alternative for those whose schedule may be tight on the weekdays is to make an appointment for a Saturday.

While Sunset locations are based in California, our mobile service extends beyond state lines. We travel to the states of Arizona and Nevada to service vehicles and fleets, mitigating any travel on our customers’ end.

With our mobile service, convenience is an additional perk. At your business or home, we can service every vehicle in a single appointment, eliminating the wait and hassle of juggling separate maintenance days and ultimately saving time in the long run.
